Fighting
for Marriage on Capitol Hill |
|
Many
nationally known ministries are banding together to plead the case for holy
matrimony, in its truest biblical definition, on Capitol Hill. They joined
a coalition of other conservative organizations today for a news conference
at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C. The announcement - a
nationwide grassroots campaign that supports a Federal Marriage Amendment.
Concerning the amendment, NRB President Dr. Frank Wright stated, "Amending
the U.S. Constitution should never be undertaken lightly. Yet in light of
U.S. Supreme Court case law, many Americans have concluded that the Court is
already amending the Constitution at will—and without regard to the will of
the people.” Marriage Protection Week, October 12-18, has been developed by this group to
further the awareness of the importance of marriage as a union between man and
woman. The organizations involved will reach out to millions of their
members. This campaign includes more than 200,000 churches and a significant
number of national radio broadcasts. Some NRB members present at today's
announcement included Dr. James Dobson, Rev. Donald Wildmon, Dr. Richard
Land and Dr. Frank Wright.
To run a free PSA with Concerned Women for America (CWA)
President Sandy Rios discussing this important issue, please send your request for an e-mailed MP3 version to

CWA's Rebecca Riggs directly at

of benefit to your programming. For more information, contact

Presidential
Prayer Team Shifts from Envoy Group
The Envoy Group, which founded the Presidential Prayer Team (PPT), is
turning over the reins of the now 3 million-member organization to PPT President John Lind on December 31. The Envoy
Group says leading up to 9/11 the PPT website was just an idea, but the day
after this national tragedy the idea was launched through a national
promotional campaign managed by the agency. The goal was to get just one percent
of the U.S. population to pray for President Bush. Within just 600 days
enrollment
had reached the 2.8 million people goal. The Envoy Group President David Bolthouse says, "Our team has put many days, nights and weekends in building
PPT, but we're now ready to move on to other projects and the baby we
nurtured into a giant is now ready to be managed entirely by its own staff."
For more information, contact Sally Barton at 520-219-0987.
